Porsche Design Tower is part of an automotive-themed tower trend in Miami combining the love of high-end cars and high-end real estate. This trend began in South Florida in 2015, when Pininfarina was commissioned by developers to bring a “sports-car-friendly” feel to 1100 Millecento in Brickell, Miami. The latest such auto-themed building coming soon to the Miami skyline is the Aston Martin Residences at 300 Biscayne Boulevard Way.

Brickell Flatiron, a luxury residential condo tower located in Downtown Miami’s Brickell Financial District, has sold about 75 percent of its 549 units. There are currently only about 130 residences still available. Developed by Ugo Colombo's CMC Group, the luxury sky rise tower will measure over 700 feet once completed. Construction began in 2016 and its completion date is slated for summer of 2019.

In 2007, after Apple’s announcement that the company would allow third-party apps on the iPhone, Rascoff bet everything on mobile development and compatibility.

In preparation for aerial commuting, the luxury real estate developers behind the 60-story ultra-luxury tower Paramount Miami Worldcenter, is making sure that future owners of these space-age vehicles have a place to land. Developer Dan Kodsi is preparing for the future by outfitting the top of the building with the first residential skyport in Miami-Dade County. “Paramount Miami Worldcenter is excited to be at the forefront of urban aviation with what can one day be the first residential skyport in Miami,” says Kodsi.

A version of Wynwood’s hip vibe is set to take root in Miami Beach. Called the North Beach Yard, Miami Beach commissioners approved a five-year lease with the city to turn a lot at 81st Street and Collins Avenue into a trendy outdoor gathering space for the public. Wynwood Yard founder Della Heiman and her business partner Ken Lyon have been working on the plans that would include food trucks, small retail businesses, a bar, a performance stage for live entertainment and daytime programming, a pavilion and a renovated city-owned building that will serve as a community center.
