Fort Lauderdale will host the 56th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show November 5th through November 9th. Exhibits at the top boat show in the world will range from yacht builders and designers to exotic cars and brokerage yachts. A wide variety of sea vessels will also be on display during the much-anticipated show. The show and exhibitions bring over 125,000 people to the city each year.

Miami and Boca Raton have some of the fastest-growing economies in the country. Miami came in second out of 64 cities with over 300,000 in population, and Boca Raton came in tenth out of 211 cities with a population of less than 100,000. Some of the key metrics measured by the study included the decrease in the poverty rate, growth in the number of small businesses and growth of household income.

Over the past two decades, Fort Lauderdale has become much more than just a tourism and yachting hub. The coastal city has emerged as a diverse center for American and international business. Over the past five years, 123 companies have expanded or relocated to Broward County. Currently, there are about 200 businesses with their corporate or regional headquarters in the booming area. As business has expanded, so has the population. The thriving economy has attracted a younger, more diverse demographic.

The condo-building spree is continuing in Fort Lauderdale. As prices continue to increase in Miami, home buyers are looking to Fort Lauderdale as a more attractive option. The average new condo price per square foot in Miami is nearly double the average in Fort Lauderdale. The coastal city also boasts pristine beaches, 300 miles of inland waterways and an expanded international airport.

According to a study by the New York Times, South Florida is one of the country's easiest places to live. The study used data from every county in the United States to determine the quality of life based on the median household income, obesity rate, percentage of residents with a college education, life expectancy, unemployment rate and disability rate.
