Monad Terrace Design Changes Approved

The Miami Beach Design Review Board just approved plans for design changes at Monad Terrace. The luxury South Beach project will now have a double-height lobby and a porte-cochere lobby. To make up for the added lobby height, an additional floor will be added to the back of the second building. Monad Terrace was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel. It is his first residential project in Florida. 

Located on Biscayne Bay in South Beach, the stunning development is designed to capture light reflecting off of the water. The inward-facing walls of the anticipated buildings will be clad in honeycomb-patterned glazing to reflect light from Biscayne Bay and the private lagoon below. Monad Terrace was also designed with climate change and rising sea levels in mind. The project is situated over 11 feet above sea level and features a spectacular private lagoon capable of withstanding flooding. It is South Florida's building of the future.
